Mooncake Season | Calories & Macros

Mooncake sizes and portioning. Here we have 美心雙黃白蓮蓉月餅 (Maxim’s White Lotus Seed Paste with 2 Egg Yolks), 大官廳迷你奶黃月餅 (Tycoon Tann Mini Egg Custard Mooncake), 馬會迷你白蓮蓉月餅 (Jockey Club Mini White Lotus Seed Paste with Egg Yolk). They all weight 45g but one is a quarter of a mooncake, one is the whole entire mooncake. As you can see the difference in calories and macros is pretty minuscule, but when you cut a quarter of a whole mooncake to it, the macros and calories are gonna be different. Sugar wise, the mini egg custard is almost half of the white lotus seed mooncakes.

When 80% of my diet is based around macros and tracking. I ALWAYS eat FOOD I LOVE based on their taste, ie. i don’t go for low fat/ low sugar processed food. if i want a cookie, i would want the full sugar gooey carb-ful one.
There’s no good food or bad food, but there’s too much of anything isn’t gonna do you good.
Eat for Health: Be mindful. Portioning is key. There are low sugar mooncakes out there that you can go for and there are also ones that are made with natural sugars (think fruit sugars).
Eat for Fit: Eat whatever that fits your macros and fuel yourself at the gym!
