How’s your summer going? Here is another clean, healthy ice cream recipe to keep you chilled with the heat. You will also be happy to know that there will be AVOCADO involved! The ingredients used here are fairly similar to the Avocado Smoothie Recipe but this time we add in yoghurt and lime as well. This recipe is delicious, rich in healthy fats and calories to help give you the fuel you need to sustain yourself and possibly even grab a workout.
Eating healthy fats is essential to having balanced hormones, healthy skin, shiny hair and adrenal energy. If you’re experiencing fatigue, imbalance or sugar cravings – it’s possible that you need to add more fat into your diet.
Stress and other emotional triggers can cause intense hunger cravings for sugar rich foods like ice cream, so finding healthful ways to satiate hungry and alleviate cravings is important if you truly want to sustain a clean diet.
Ingredients (Makes 5-6 scoops)
1 Avocado
100g Plain Yoghurt of your choice
80ml Milk (I used semi-skimmed)
4-5 Tbsp Honey of your choice
1 Lime or 2 Tbsp of Lime juice
Directions
1. Open your avocado, and scoop out all that goodness into your food processor or blender
2. Add in your yoghurt, milk, honey and lime juice
3. Let it blitz for 5 minutes until it is smooth and creamy. Don’t forget to taste it, if it is not sweet enough, you can add in more honey.
4. Find a container that has a lid and fill it up. At this stage, you can also eat it without freezing like a smoothie bowl
5. Store your creamy mixture for at least 2 hours, but preferably overnight
Get your spoon ready and tuck in! If it is too frozen, let it sit in room temperature for a few minutes before scooping it out. The ice cream is so creamy with a hint of lime & honey and you don’t have to feel guilty!
Omg I never knew it was that easy to make Avocado ice cream. I will definitely add this to my to-do list! This is a really great post =) thank you for sharing.
