Welcome back to our blog. Today I am going to be showing you how I like to create a smokey eye for a night out. Whether you are going for drinks at a bar or hitting the clubs, this dramatic eye makeup will look great as it really enhances your eyes, making them stand out. In this tutorial, I have used my trusty Naked 1 Eyeshadow Palette from Urban Decay. I have had this palette for 3-4 years now and it still remains to be my favourite set. I only really use it when I go out for drinks/ parties/ in the evenings (that is why it looks like I’ve barely used it)! And a little goes a long way as they are so pigmented. An item definitely worth investing in!
Next, I applied the shade Toasted to my lids as a base colour. As a rule of thumb, you would usually start off with the lightest shade (of the three/four shades you have decided to use) as the base colour.
Next, I added Darkhorse to the outer V corners of my eyes, as well as a dash of Creep, to create more dimension. I then used a tapered blending brush from Sigma (E35) and blended it all out with a gentle sweeping motion from side to side.
Finally, define your eyes with a coat of liquid liner. This is my favourite step as it ties it together and finalises the look. Don’t forget to pencil line your inner upper and lower lash line!
Feel free to add a bit of highlighter to the inner corners of your eyes. It helps brighten up the look and make your eyes pop. I personally love adding the white shimmery bit!
I hope you have enjoyed this and have found it useful!
The Tweedlets will be doing another GIVEAWAY very soon to thank you for your continuous support! One of the items included will be an eyeshadow set which you can use to create this smokey eye look. Stay tuned for more information ;)!
Lots of Love,
