Hello Beauties! Hope you’re not beaten by the Monday Blues. I got an invitation from Shu Uemura’s Promotion Event the other day for their “Brave Beauty” launch and I was only planning to have a browse but I ended up going home with a few items. The official date for their Limited Edition “Brave Beauty” Make -Up Collection will be out on the 1st Aug 2014.
BB Perfector Skin Smoothing Beauty Cream SPF30 PA++ (Deep Beige) ($360HKD)- I’m not a fan of BB creams as they tend to make my skin look dull or give off a greasy filling. To my surprise, this does not grease up my face or make my skin look dull. But instead, leaves a slight luminescent finish rather than a matte finish, giving your skin a healthy glow. The down side is that it only has three colours and they are rather light; the darkest is the deep beige and it is still slightly lighter than my skin.
Smooth-out Instant Pore Blurring Primer ($340HKD) – This is a new primer they have launched and having used Benefit’s Porefessional, Maybelline’s Baby Skin Pore Eraser and Smashbox’s Photo Finish Primer, I got to say that this Pore Erasing Primer is the best! I have tested it out on the most wrinkled part of my skin (the area between your thumb and index finger) and also my face; and it instantly mattifies and smooths out my skin! Not sure if you can see the results from the photos, but if there is a Shu Uemura store near you, I would highly suggest you head down there and try it out! With the humid weather in Hong Kong, this primer also prevents my skin from looking greasy after a long day being out.
Lightbulb UV Compact SPF30 PA+++ -I have been using this powder since March and this is a repurchase for a darker colour as I have been tanning and my face is much whiter than the rest of my body. I was using the colour 754 and the colour I got is 744. This is most probably my favourite powder as it mattifies my face without feeling heavy on my skin.
Satin Radiant Stick Cheek Tint in Orange Coral ($300HKD) – This is part of the new Limited Edition Make-up Collection “Brave Beauty” launching in August. Their new collection also includes eyeshadow palettes, soft gel pencils, cream stick highlighters/blush and also lipsticks in a vibrantly hued packaging. I bought the cream highlighter/bush in the colour orange as I do not own any orange blush and since I’ve tanned a little, it works better than my normal pink blossom blush. I can also use this colour as a bronzer during winter when my skin gets pale. The application is very similar to the nars blush/bronzer sticks, and you apply this cream highlighter on your cheekbones before your powder foundation to give your skin a radiant glow.
Whitefficient Brightseal Whitening Carbonated Mask ($520HKD)- This is a CO2 mousse mask that gives your skin oxygen, it is especially good for you those of you who use make up everyday. As I have combination skin, it is said to give me a brighter and healthier glow with a healthy rosy complexion. This is also a leave on mask that you have to shake for some time before pumping the foam out, and it does leave a sticky residue after applying. I will be using this for some time to determine whether or not it leaves a lasting effect .
Tsuya Skin Youthful Radiance Generator 30ml ($580HKD) – This essence is said to increase your skin’s absorbency and should be used before applying any masks or moisturisers. I have used it for a few days now and my skin has becomes less oily/shiny during the day and balances out my skin’s condition. It also helps retain moisture in your skin. This is one of the more pricey items I have got, its roughly 50 quid for a bottle of 30ml essence and I doubt I would repurchase it.
Deepsea Hydrability Moisturising Gel Cream ($410HKD)- I have not used this cream long enough to say it has improved my skin or not, but it is a very light cream and does not leave your skin feeling sticky. My skin feels more soft and moisturised the next morning when I wake up.
Have you tried any of Shu Uemura products? Let me know in the comments :)
Have a lovely week everyone!
Lots of Love,
