The May “You Beauty Discovery” Box has arrived and this is my first ever beauty box! This month, they have joined forces with CEW (Cosmetic Executive Women) in celebration of the hotly anticipated CEW UK 2014 Beauty Awards. What I like about this beauty box company is that you can choose two different products instead of having random ones given to you and this month, they have come up with some fabulous products.
The two items I have picked is the Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment and the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer.
The Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment is designed to treat breakouts, black and white heads, razor bumps, ingrown hairs, and reduces pore sizes. I have used their Youthmud before which gives you a glowing complexion and it really does work! So I’m giving the Supermud a go and what are the differences between these two products.
The Elasticizer is a pre-shampoo conditioning treatment and this products prevents your hair from breaking when wet and adds elasticity, bounce and shine to it. My bleached hair will definitely benefit from this product and I should be seeing results within first use. I can’t wait to try it! It also says it is best to apply before your sleep, so it moistures your hair for the whole night.
– UPDATE – I have just tried this product and I damped my hair as instructed and applied the product from mid lengths to the ends of my hair in sections. Wrapped around in a towel for an hour and showered. After blowdrying my hair, my hair does feel softer and lighter but I doubt I would be spending almost £30 pounds on a 250ml product. The sample product was 40ml and I have used more than half of it as you need a generous amount in your hair. I guess I will have to stick with Bleach London’s Reincarnation Mask.
These are the extra treats from the beauty box.
Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Hair Healer Leave-in Conditioner – I have already a Charles Worthington user and I have been using their Volume & Bounce Shampoo, Conditioner, Volume Mouse and Texturising Powder. It would be interesting to see what his other line does.
Caudalie Divine Legs – This is a tinted lotion that gives you tanned skin and has no self-tanning agents in it. I have to say I’m not a big self tanning or tinted lotion fan because they can get messy when it gets intact with water or staining my clothes but I will give this a go and see if it is any good.
Lizi’s Granola Naturally Indulgent Toasted Granolas – Treacle Pecan- food food fooooddd!!! I love granola, these are toasted granola specially formulated with a low GL and I have the flavour in Treacle Pecan. The other flavours are Original, Belgian Chocolate, Pink Apple and Cinnamon – i think the Treacle Pecan maybe the best flavour.
Overall, I think the products given are pretty decent and this is one of cheaper beauty boxes in the UK. It is only £6.95 per month including postage and you can unsubscribe anytime. Whereas other boxes are roughly £10 and postage fee. So if you are on a budget but are looking for new products to try, this would be perfect for you!
I will also be ordering the May Glossybox soon and compare the differences. There is also a few natural beauty boxes but it seems there isn’t much in the market, I have only managed to find Love Lula and also Souksouk. If you know any natural or organic beauty boxes please let me know. Also, what beauty boxes are you subscribed to?
Lots of Love x
