“I was sad but I bought something online I feel better now.” – This has been the story of my life for the past few weeks cause I was feeling a bit down and stressed with exams and writing my dissertation. Shopping in general really does make me happy, it is like a treat and it has a lasting positive impact on my mood :).
ASOS Discount Code
With the ASOS 25% off student discount last week, I just couldn’t resist! ASOS offers great things for reasonable prices, but having promotion codes makes it even better. A lot of the time I will save my shopping for later – until I find a good discount to help save a bit of cash.
I have found some great codes here you can use at checkout when you make your next purchase from ASOS. There are currently some great offers available!
Here is what I got and I will list prices in full. I was mainly looking for crop tops (they are in for SS14 but slightly longer than last year’s SS13 crops) and high rise/ high waisted shorts.
This is a lovely pair of black shorts that is perfect for both work and casual and can be easily paired with crop tops and cami tops. Some high waisted shorts are quite loose on the waist but these Elastic bands hugs nicely around the waist.
TOP: Oh My Love Scuba Top in Black £32
This can easily be paired with high rise shorts or maxi skirts (I’m still looking for one) If you are thinking of ordering this, I would advise you to order a size up. I am a size 8 for tops, so I went with XS from the asos chart and it was super super tight. I had to exchange it for a size 10 (S). Even though it is elastic, I couldn’t really breathe in the XS, it was like being wrapped around with cling film.
BOTTOM: Mango Skort in White £29.99
Super comfy work attire. Even though it was again advised by ASOS for ordering a size up. I found the size 38 (size 10) too loose for me so I had to exchange for a smaller pair. I am still deciding whether if I should order a pair of black ones too!
This piece looks more like a dress than a playsuit which I love. Monochrome and floral prints are also in trend for SS14!
A splash of colour from the other monochrome items! Even though it is slightly darker than the colour showed online. This cute playsuit is very fitted and shows your figure nicely. I love the print on this. There is also a grey and white one but I think this would be more summery to wear. The only issue I will be having is going to the toilet as you would have to unzip and rezip the playsuit from the back. If any of you have tips regarding toilets and playsuits, let me know !
I have been looking for a pair of cheaper sunglasses that has a retro feel with a twist and these are perfect. I already have a pair of rayban wayfarer and a pair of aviators, but another pair of sun glasses can never hurt. I love how reflective these are and it was rather difficult taking a shot for you guys without being reflected on the lenses.
This is a long necklace that hangs from my neck to my belly button. It is a very simple piece which works with almost anything.
ASOS Ladybug Pointed Ballet Flats in Black £22
These flat leather-look pointed flats with ankle straps are also known as Alexander Wang’s Esther Flats. They are comfy and elegant but the strap was rather loose for me so I had to punch a few extra holes in.
Apart from shopping on ASOS, I also went shopping yesterday in Forever21, Topshop, and Selfridges for a few bits and pieces. Since I was around bond street, I went to Patty&Bun for their juicy burgers (their burger sauce is amazing)! I have also debated which burger joint is the best between Patty&Bun, Honest Burger and Five Guys and I got to say it was a hard decision but Patty&Bun really does serves the best burger in London and their chips are nicely tossed with rosemary and salt ! I would also advice you to avoid lunch and dinner hours unless you want to queue. There’s a short wait even going in at 4 in the afternoon.
Patty & Bun – 54 James Street, London W1U 1HE
What is your favourite burger joint? Have you guys made any summer plans yet?
Lots of Love x
